Songza’s New Advertising Model, Made Possible by $4,700,000 In Funding…

So who finally gets this right?

Songza, the expertly-curated playlist streaming service for any mood or occassion, has announced that it has raised $4,700,000 in an equity financing.  Investors include Amazon.com, William Morris Endeavor, Lerer Ventures, Deep Fork Capital, Metamorphic Ventures, Troy Carter, Scooter Braun and others.

The funds will help create advertising solutions that are tightly-integrated into curated playlists.

“With this funding, we’re scaling our native advertising solution to make brand-to-customer interactions more engaging for customers and more successful for brands.”

Cofounder and CEO of Songza Elias Roman.

The advertising solution, called Branded Moments, will allow brands to “sponsor a life moment” such as working out or driving, through branded playlists and product advertisements based on what the user is doing at the moment.

Paul, what is this? A press release posing as a story? “Expertly Curated”. Who pray tell are these expert “curators”?

I didn’t write the story, Priscilla did, but I personally agree. Songza playlists are definitely curated, often really well.
