Epic Records has named Shalik Berry as VP of A&R. Berry was most recently a creative director at L.A. Reid Music Publishing for two years and director of A&R at Island Def Jam prior to that.
SoundCloud has now appointed Jeff Toig as Chief Business Officer. Toig was most recently at Muve Music, of which he was a founder and SVP. Prior to Muve, Toig was with Virgin Mobile USA’s founding team, helping it grow to 5 million subscribers.
At SoundCloud, Toig’s strategic vision will oversee the business development, brand, distribution, and overall platform, music, and audio aspects to help continue grow the company.
Elsewhere, David Weitzman has been promoted to VP, Business Development at ole.
Weitzman had played integral roles in ole’s recent acquisition of the Sony Pictures Entertainment music publishing catalog and the 2012 deal with writer-producer-artist Timbaland.
Warner Bros. Records has just named Brian Frank to Senior Vice President, Marketing & Strategy. Frank was previously Global Head of Content & Executive Vice President for Beats Music. Frank will oversee Warner marketing efforts and help to drive long-term strategy as a member of the senior team.
Frank will report into Cameron Strang, Chairman & CEO of the label.
Over in the all-important gaming realm, executive vice president of EA Sports Andrew Wilson has just been named CEO of the broader Electronic Arts. Wilson promised to focus on “instilling a culture of execution” that focuses on “creating amazing games,” though Wilson will be working with a slimmed-down workforce thanks to recent employee cuts.
Back in music, Big Machine Label Group has named Jessica Myers as Director of Administration. Previously, Myers was Director of Copyright Administration at Bluewater Music.
And, Pulse Recording has named Maria Egan as Executive Vice President. Egan was most recently Vice President of A&R at Columbia Records.
