Moshcam and PledgeMusic are now a thing.
Crowd-funding platform PledgeMusic is trying to expand their efforts in the music sector, and have launched Shoot My Gig as part of that. They’re doing so in partnership with Moshcam, the self-described “creators of the world’s largest catalog of originally-produced online music videos“.
PledgeMusic will help artists raise funding to shoot live concert videos to sell direct to fans. Moshcam will handle the filming, post production, DVD manufacturing, and delivery… subject to the approval of the artist. Perfect for a band who wants almost zero creative input in the process.
Artists will retain the copyright to the video, but it will be streamed by Moshcam. Revenue from streaming will be split between Moshcam and the artist.
Benji Rogers, Founder and CEO of PledgeMusic says
“Shoot My Gig… (gives) fans the opportunity to support their favorite artists while being a part of a professional shoot, resulting in a permanent record of the artist’s performance.”
