Twitter may be doing great, but their most followed person is having problems… in Australia.
Katy Perry’s newest album, Prism, has been declared an environmental biohazard by Australian officials.
This is surely opposite of the intended effect: the artwork in the deluxe version of Prism is made of seed paper, which fans are encouraged to plant. Seeds in the Australian version of the album are okay, but international versions (ie, imports) being brought into the country are a concern. These international copies could contain plant species that would be invasive to the country. Australia has quarantine rules against this to protect their ecosystem.
A customs spokesperson said:
“Seeds or plant material of international origin may be a weed not present in Australia or the host of a plant pathogen of biosecurity concern”
