An auto-Shazam feature has been added to Shazam’s iPhone app.
This feature was added to the iPad app earlier in the year
Users can set Shazam to automatically identify every single song that plays. This is done in the background, so it will even identify songs when other apps are being used or when the screen is locked. A list of identified songs is then saved. The feature runs on a timer so it doesn’t go on identifying tracks forever.
Rdio and Shazam recently announced a feature that adds all identified songs to a “My Shazam Tracks” playlist. So now Rdio users can use auto-Shazam to automatically create playlists of music being played anywhere.
Shazam’s Chief Product Officer, Daniel Danker, said:
“This update is another leap forward in achieving our vision to help people effortlessly recognize and engage with the world around them.”
