Moogfest 2014 features an incredible lineup of workshops and panels that cover the intersection of art, music, and technology.
In its 10th year, Moogfest has become a 5 day long festival, hosting top-notch bands, showcases, durational performances, panels, documentaries, and more. The festival serves to honor Moog’s founder, Dr. Bob Moog. The festival programming does a pretty fine job of continuing the Moog legacy.
Here are a few panels that stand out:

- Innovators In Electronic Music: Herb Deutsch will discuss his collaboration with Bob Moog. Dave Tompkins will walk through the history of the vocoder. Malcolm Cecil (creator of the first multi-timbral polyphonic synthesizer) and Giorgio Moroder will also take part.
- The Math and Science of The Simpsons and Futurama: The author of The Simpsons and Their Mathematical Secrets will lead a discussion featuring the creator of Futurama and three Futurama / The Simpsons writers. They’ll be talking about math and science riddles in the two shows.

In addition to all of the other performances, panels, and workshops, Nick Zinner, Bradford Cox, Gavin Russom, and Dan Deacon will do an improv performance on Moogs. Performances could be up to four hours long.
