This year’s Record Store Day is going down on April 19th. If you’re lucky enough to be around Nashville on that day, you’ll be able to pick up a copy of the “fastest released record“.
Jack White is going to set the record for the “world’s fastest released record”, studio to store.
On the morning of April 19th he’ll record the title track from his new album Lazaretto direct-to-acetate at Third Man Records. This will be taken to United Record Pressing where they will start pressing 45s. Sleeves will be printed using photos from the morning performance.
A few hours later the finished records will be brought back to the Third Man Records store, where all fans can purchase them. United Record Pressing will continue pressing records as long as there’s fans waiting to buy them.
Tickets to watch Jack White record the track will only be available to Platinum Members of The Third Man Records Vault. Members will also get to watch Whirlwind Heat perform, and will receive Jack White’s and Whirlwind Heat’s RSD releases for free.
If you won’t be at Third Man Records, check out the exclusives you can get at your local record store on RSD.
