Filter Magazine has been around for about 12 years, launching in 2002. Now, the magazine is shutting down.

Filter’s co-founders, Alan Miller and Alan Sartirana, say the shutdown is the result of an amicable split.

Miller will take over Filter’s Culture Collide music festival, keeping the festival’s staff. The festival’s brand will expand into a culture and media platform.

Sartirana is taking most of the magazine’s editorial team to form a new publication called Anthemic.

Makes sense. When Rolling Stone goes away is when the world ends. Oh wait, they are already gone sans the ads and lame editorial.
