Looks Like Ke$ha Is a Fucking Liar…

keshadeposition1

Earlier this month, Ke$ha (real name Kesha Serbert) claimed that producer Dr. Luke (Lukasz Gottwald) sexually assaulted her and forced her to take drugs against her will.  Here’s what she said in a 2011 deposition in a separate case that has now been unsealed.

On sexual advances by Dr. Luke (Q = lawyer; A = Ke$ha):

On Dr. Luke forcing drugs upon Ke$ha…

Any further questions?  The complete, unsealed deposition is here.

Perhaps in 2011 she was still afraid to come forward because she knew there would be victim shaming people like you waiting to call her a fucking liar.

      Victim?!

This is Ke$ha we’re talking about; middle-finger in the air I don’t care Ke$ha! Jack Daniels for breakfast, bad-ass party girl Ke$ha!

How could such a rough rebel EVER be a victim? That’s like saying Janis Joplin was a victim when she took a hit off her manager’s joint.

Yeah, it’s this kind of attitude that makes it harder for victims to come out. Just because she has a persona as a party girl, that doesn’t mean she isn’t vulnerable to sexual assault.

If you follow Ke$ha she freely admits her stage personality is exaggerated. It’s not uncommon nor wrong to play a character as a musician, especially if it entertains people and makes them happy. She’s actually a very smart and balanced women in reality.

Yet somehow she comes off more genuine then most pop stars. Her music, while heavily autotuned (like everyone else, of course), still has this unique and original Ke$ha quality to it, like she has a genre to herself.

She is my favorite pop star for sure. Don’t know why Katy Perry and Gaga are so much more popular. Ke$ha is completely underrated.

That is not evidence enough for me to conclude beyond a reasonable doubt that she is a liar or really anything at all.

It doesn’t say much at all other then at that time she appeared to be very evasive and withholding. Whether she was being extorted or threatened, who knows, but to make such an assertive aggressive statement from such little evidence is rather frightening.

As well this was DAS suing her and Dr. Luke, so obviously with the stakes so high, all parties involved will raise their right hand and proceed to lie their face off. The key is to find out the behind the behind the scenes stuff, the shadowy stuff, the things causing them to lie and who and what they are protecting.

What she said in 2011, thats years ago, could it not be possible stuff happened since then and whos to say she wasnt lying then? That’s how yalls court system and legal system works. LIE LIE LIE DENY! Then 30 years later maybe some filmmaker will do the real story, all the truth will come out, no one will care, everyone will just wipe their hands clean, be celebrated, and theyll both ship some more records due to the bump in notoriety and publicity.

Must peel way more layers of the Onion to get to the real stuff that makes you cry…

I have read the case study and apparently the abuse started when she was 18 however certain elements of the abuse may not have started just yet in 2011, so you could be right anyway. She could well be telling the truth here as well as in present day.

I’m confused. So you guys think that she was lying in this deposition and that’s OK? And I’m the low-stooping asshole?

If these answers were lies, then that’s called perjury.

It’s going to be really interesting to see where this case goes next. If I’m a judge, I’d be looking at this deposition with a very stern eye. This case might be over.

But if she was threatened or extorted or blackmailed into lying to protect other interests, then it’s not perjury and those extorting or threatening would be liable for a criminal charge and imprisonment.

And believe me, in that line of work, it happens all the time.

A random study which i paraphrased below, which means whatever you want it to mean but is used herein as evidence to support the reality that these things do happen. We can all continue to live in a fantasy dream world where these things don’t happen and everyone means well and is nice and legitimate, only to get the truth many years later, again and again and again people do not make the connection to today, or we can man up and understand this happens all the time in the present right now.

That said, small-scale studies and surveys of police and prosecutors suggest that witness intimidation is pervasive and increasing. For example, a study of witnesses appearing in criminal courts in Bronx County, New York revealed that 36 percent of witnesses had been directly threatened; among those who had not been threatened directly, 57 percent feared reprisals. In the United Kingdom, a survey of witnesses appearing in court revealed that a majority had been affected by intimidation either through direct experience (53 percent) or because they feared intimidation (17 percent). Anecdotes and surveys of police and prosecutors suggest that witness intimidation is even more widespread.Prosecutors estimate that witness intimidation plays a role in 75 to 100 percent of violent crime committed in gang-dominated neighborhoods, although it may play less of a role in communities not dominated by gangs and drugs. The increasing prevalence of witness intimidation is a reflection of the same social and psychological factors that have changed the nature of crime and offenders over the past two decades, including

Paul – you clearly have zero clue about what it can be like to be the victim of abuse or assault. Victims will often go out of their way to protect the abuser for fear of more abuse and/or ridicule from the public.

Yes. She may have been lying. She may also been scared sh*tless about what would happen if she said a rich and powerful producer abused her.

Writing that she’s a fucking liar is EXACTLY the type of response she may been trying to avoid.

and if you are being intimated, threatened, extorted or blackmailed, fearing your life and your families life and your dogs life, then you will say what you have to say and ultimately it is those intimidating and extorting you who are guilty and liable for imprisonment.

Intimidating a Victim or a Witness, on the other hand, occurs when a person, knowing that another individual possesses information relating to a criminal transaction and, other than in the course of the criminal transaction, wrongfully compels or attempts to compel the other individual from communicating that information to the police, a grand jury, prosecutor or court by instilling a fear of physical injury or actually damaging property of that person. The different levels of the severity of this crime (an “E” Felony punishable by up to four years in state prison to a “B” felony punishable by up to 25 years in state prison) are distinguished in part by whether there are threats of physical injury or actual physical or serious physical injury

I’m not saying that is the case in this instance. I’m just saying not considering the possibility of it, is extremely shortsighted.

I’ve never been deposed, but I know enough that I don’t believe everyone who’s ever been sworn in was telling the truth.

But in the original complaint, it says, “Dr. Luke repeatedly threatened that if she ever told anyone about these abusive incidents, he would destroy both Mrs. Sebert and her entire family.” That seems like motive to lie during the deposition to me.

I’m not saying anyone is guilty or innocent or lying or not. I know at that level of fame/wealth/power, all sorts of fucked up shit can happen… I probably can’t even imagine what goes on. So I have no basis of even making an educated guess one way or the other. And that’s why I think that everyone who isn’t somehow close to the situation should reserve judgment, & let this play out in the courts.

But what’s certain is that this isn’t sufficient evidence to call Kesha a liar regarding the current complaint. It’s irresponsible, & kind of dickish, honestly, to indict someone whose alleging intimidation & control for what is potentially a record of intimidation & control. Given the nature of the complaint, it’s just not something you can hold against her until all of the facts come out. It may very well turn out to be evidence supporting her claim.

Rather than sensationalizing the story, how about a more objective tone? You seem to have been on Team Luke from the start. I don’t know if you’re holding Kesha’s image against her, but realize that this is an image that Dr Luke crafted, in whole or in part. He wrote the songs that she’s known for… it’s tough to hold that against her.

Paul, the only thing I would hold you guilty of is coming to a conclusion.

It’s a contradiction and should have been titled as so, not going for the click-bait “she is a liar”. None of this is conclusive, so giving her the Salem Witch treatment is a little harsh.

She does seem evasive… I found the “I don’t know” response to did he give you drugs very strange. Also, what’s the upside to her for bringing charges? None. It won’t help her career, and the threat a law suit forcing Dr Luke to settle for less songwriting shares or whatever disappears as soon as there is a lawsuit, no?

I’m not a fan of kesha, but it sure seemed like something happened. Does dr luke have a reputation? (remember Phil spector– he had a rep long before the death of that woman in his house)

There are some good points in this comment thread, and a lot to consider here. Well, let’s see how the case plays out, let’s see if we can get to the truth of it. Even though I’ve seen the hairy, smelly end of America’s legal system (and survived), I still think there is good that can come out of our ‘rule of law’ in America.

If it turns out that Ke$ha was intimidated into lying under oath and committing perjury, then I will apologize very publicly. And, by the way, Dr. Luke (et al) will then face serious charges of witness tampering, a federal crime that I think merits jail time (in a ‘pound me in the ass’ prison for you Office Space aficionados).

    Time will tell.

You’re the guy that wrote this article and you physically disgust me.
It’s extremely common place for absuers to force their victims to lie about their abuse, whether it be under oath or to friends or family. This is about as much as a piece of evidence as someone saying “Well, Doris told the nurse she walked into a door, so all this business about an abusive relationship must be fake.”
You have absolutely zilch to contribute to this case, at all. Shut the fuck up and stop shaming victims. You’re a fucking idiot. Anyone with half-brain cell could easily surmise that this (the case from 2011) is probably a lie. It even says in the case file, for the current case, that Dr. Luke made multiple threats towards Kesha which would be exacted if she attempted to come forward. In fact, if anything this is actually more evidence that Kesha’s probably telling the truth, due to the fact people were asking her so may questions about Dr. Luke’s conduct towards her. Well that’s another way someone could interpret the “evidence” in this article.

Why the fuck would you use a title like this for something? Are you being serious? What is wrong with you? You have the journalistic integrity of Fox New’s dysentery induced diarrhea. I am so fucking furious. If only “time will tell” then why the fuck do you, some journalist with a toy train and twenty Legos stuck up their arse, think you have any right to claim she’s a liar. In fact, it’s time we stop claiming victims of abuse are always liars because we don’t want to have to face the ugly fact that this world isn’t as equal as we claim it is.

oh dear, saint paul is at it again…

you are the most clueless asshole when it comes to the fear women have when confronted with abusive men. denise barnes was beaten because people like you kept putting out there a comment that she never intended to go public. dr. dre violently responded to the media coverage of something she privately said. it does not excuse his abhorrent behavior but, really paul, knowing this, you would think a guy with any sense of decency would stop trying to reignite that fire. are you trying to get her killed? have you called miss barnes and asked her opinion or expressed any concern for her safety? every time you exploit her horrific experience for clicks to your progressively useless website, you essentially put her at further risk. she settled her suit – a fact you never bother to post. her privacy in this matter should be respected but you can’t help yourself when it come to abusing or exploiting women, can you? you don’t give a shit about her and you clearly don’t know the full story about kesha’s experiences either. so really, what’s the value of your “apology when and if” after you call somebody a fucking liar because you never lied in a deposition? where’s the dmn article about that time steve jobs lied in a court document denying his own child? in what part of the “pound me in the ass” afterlife should he spend all eternity? ( you really do know how to offend everybody…)

if you think your word is worth a damn, you should apologize to kesha and to all of your readers right this fucking minute. you embarrass your website and do a great disservice to women everywhere with your shameful behavior. that thing you think is a halo is just your own sphincter…

What the fuck is wrong with you? It says in the report of the current case that Dr Luke threatened physical harm to Ke$ha’s family if she came forward with the information. He also threatened her career and threatened to ruin her life. I mean are you fucking kidding me? Loads of people in abuse relationships tell people that they’re not in abusive relationships due to threats made by their abusers if they come forward. You should be ashamed of yourself for shaming this woman after what she’s been through. A large amount of women, and men, may have the courage to come forward about their abusive relationships due to Ke$ha’s public claims about this matter and you shaming her will put their hopes to rest out of fear that they won’t be believed. The vast majority of abusive relationships end in death, either at the hand of the victim or the abuser. A woman in my area, an old friend of my mother, recently committed suicide because of her husbands continued domestic abuse. She felt she could never find respite from it so she killed herself because the police didn’t believe her. Abusive relationships are not always romantic and can be professional, such as the one between Ke$ha and Dr. Luke.
