AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd is no longer being charged with soliciting the murder of two men, due to lack of evidence.
The charges were brought against Rudd by the police, but prosecutors then decided there was not enough evidence.
Rudd’s lawyer Paul Mabey says the murder plot charge should have never been brought against Rudd and that it has damaged Rudd’s reputation.
Other charges of making murder threats and possession of amphetamine and cannabis still stand. The maximum sentence in New Zealand for threatening to kill is seven years.
AC/DC said this has not affected their upcoming album release.
