Merchbar Raises Over $1 Million, Expands to the Web

Merchbar, an app that sells merch to iOS users, is no longer just an app.

Merchbar has launched a website version of their merch store. The site has 100,000 merch items and is mobile and tablet compatible. Android users that previously couldn’t use the service can now use the website from their mobile devices.

The company has also added Sony Music, Warner Music Group, and Global Merchandise Services to their list of partners. They say they are “the only company to partner with every major label and merch company“.

They’ve also raised over $1,000,000 in seed funding.

Money came from 500 Startups, Maiden Lane, Structure Capital, Universal Music Group, Matt Mullenweg (WordPress founder), Jeff Schox (IP Attorney), Aaron Batalion (LivingSocial co-founder), Hiten Shah (KISSmetrics co-founder), Jonathan Swanson (Thumbtack co-founder), and others.
