Taylor Swift’s New Music Video Is a High Budget Action Film…

Taylor Swift and her team have been very smart about the marketing and promotion for 1989, her first full on pop album. They took a strong stand against free streaming, they trademarked catch phrases from the album, and the album was the top-selling release of 2014.

Swift’s music videos always get a ton of attention, but her latest video is her most ambitious one yet…

The “Bad Blood” video is being promoted in the style of an action movie with serious Tarantino vibes.  The video is directed by Joseph Kahn, who directed Destiny’s Child’s “Say My Name”, Britney Spears’ “Toxic”, and Lady Gaga’s “Love Game”.  The video is produced by Taylor Swift herself.

The music video features Swift as Catastrophe, Hayley Williams as The Crimson Curse, Ellie Goulding as Destructa X, and Kendrick Lamar as Welvin Da Great.

The video also features Zendaya, Lena Dunham, Lily Aldridge, Gigi Hadid, and Hailee Steinfeld.

The video premiers on May 17th, and Swift is likely going to announce more guest stars on Instagram.

Let this be a warning to any musician that tries to make a music video action film. You are guilty of blatant copyright infringement.

Careful, both ‘music video’ and ‘action film’ are now registered TAS TM. The 80s are screwed.
