YouTube has hired Susanne Daniels away from MTV, where she was President of Programming. Daniels is now VP of YouTube Originals, an area YouTube is getting serious about.

Wouter Tavecchio has been named CEO of SFX Europe. Jeroen Jansen, Creative Director of SFX Live North America, is relocating to Los Angeles where SFX will consolidate offices.

John Smith is the new Chairman of UK performing rights society PPL. Smith is already on PPL’s board and is the General Secretary of the Musicians Union.

In other news, Billboard reports that music journalist and author Peter Jones has died. Jones worked at Music Week and Billboard and wrote books about The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.

    I see in her eyes genetical connection to Susan Wojcicki, the mother of Google.
    Current mode of YouTube is disrespectful to music and musicians and Google’s natural greed.
    YouTube as a central hub of discovery based $100B+ music industry can double Google and bring overdue new life to music. Let’s convert Radio and streaming to simple discovery based music store!
