RZA Plays Piano In the New Apple Watch Ad…

Guess Wu-Tang brainchild RZA also plays piano…

That’s just one of a few new Apple Watch spots, including one featuring the tunes of Tame Impala.

You’ve listened to Wu-Tang right? I’m pretty sure this isn’t the first we’ve heard of Rza playing piano.

Also, look up “brainchild.” It doesn’t mean what you think it does. I think you meant something like “guru” or “svengali” or “mastermind.”

I’m pretty sure he plays piano on lots of Wu-Tang songs, no?

Also, look up “brainchild.” Wu-Tang is HIS brainchild, not the other way around. I think you mean “guru,” “svengali,” “mastermind” or whatever.

I don’t even want to imagine what is trying to be conveyed in the tone of this post. Yes, RZA has been playing keys for two decades. Yes, he is no Keith Emerson, but you probably know very little about the history of rap and hip-hop (which, whether it’s your cup of tea or not, has been one of the most significant forms of music for the last 3 decades) if you don’t know that RZA plays keys. No matter how purposefully different this spot may be from the image you formed of RZA in 1995, this post merely serves to expose your own ignorance rather than say something.

…Also, RZA very likely committed murder and got away with it. But it’s so off the radar of your own understanding or of much popular interest in this present moment, you won’t start a series of posts claiming how horrific it is that Apple employs a man worse than Dre.

Of course RZA plays keys. RZA has a past which likely includes murder. He’s no Joe Sample. But he’s a great musician, entertainer, and personality, and has done a lot of good, and changed a lot, and remained the same.

brainchild – its a play on words.

That is without a doubt some awful piano playing. Whoever directed this video is clearly making fun of RZA.

I always thought that was Evgeny Kissin playing the piano on ‘C.R.E.A.M.’

RZA plays piano like Donald Trump plays the subtle diplomat! Look at his fingers… smash them! That is the worst technique, no piano teacher would let RZA past the first lesson.

Let’s see you play ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’ with those scrunched-up fingers RZA!

it does not even sound like a real grand piano. it’s a cheap software piano. the headline should run “RZA not even playing piano in the new apple watch ad”. that would be some proper news.
