Tidal Fires Back With Exclusive Kanye West Controversial 'Famous' Video

Kanye West’s controversial video for ‘Famous’ has now been released… as a Tidal exclusive.

‘Famous’ is the fourth track on West’s ‘The Life Of Pablo’ album.  The album was exclusively released on Tidal six weeks prior to being more widely available on other streaming services.

Now, the video has been released exclusively on Tidal.

The video is 10 minutes and 44 seconds long, and 5 minutes out of the video consists of heavy breathing and nude screen play.  In the video, several celebrities including Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, Rihanna, Chris Brown, Amber Rose, Taylor Swift, Ray J and others can be seen laying in bed, ‘naked’ alongside one other.

But, the celebrities are not actually physically in the video: they are wax-like replicas that look convincingly real.

The social media reaction has been mixed.  Many people have dubbed the video as ‘tasteless,’ but some are saying Kanye’s a ‘genius’.  Unsurprisingly, not all those present in the video are in favor of the ‘artistic’ choices.  Taylor Swift sure isn’t: according to unconfirmed reports Swift is ‘furious’, and now, Ray J has also fired back.

Below are just a few of the responses on Twitter…

Might have been interesting if it were Kanye’s own idea. But it wasn’t.

It doesn’t matter – this is just another commotion of DEAD animal!

Ek’s DOPE is unsustainable and leads to suicide! Worse, music business does not have single man with BALLS to reorganize this nerd land.

There is some hope in Vinvent Bollore and Len Blavatink but speedy revival is in hands of Larry Page at Google.
Let’s PRAY to the chief MONK of digital medieval for his soon to come enlightenment!

The MOONSHOT seeker might wake-up from his apathy and TRIPLE his Google on music business.
AGAIN, LET’S PRAY to the God of digital advertising so he will stop burning 1/2 trillion of media to $15 million of ad’s ash!

  2. Tidal Backfires!

Please explain how ‘Tidal fires back’ by monetizing misogynistic, un-original content that violate the victims’ legal rights to control commercial use of their names and likenesses in a video that could easily be labeled revenge-porn.

I’d like to add that I’m all in favor of Tidal, but something’s wrong if they need to abuse people to get subs.
