The Principal Product Manager of Spoken Word Audio will own establishing and driving the direction of a number of businesses and products. The role will involve a wide variety of tasks, some of which include market research, competitive analysis, entry strategy assessment, financial analysis and forecasting, marketing and merchandising strategies, analyzing pricing alternatives as well as driving pricing strategies. Keys to success in this role include exceptional research, analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, and, the strongest candidates will posses past experience managing and driving a wide variety of projects.
The Principal Product Manager of Spoken Word Audio will be responsible for driving the creation of innovative and compelling consumer facing spoken word audio products and services. The successful candidate will report to the Vice President of Spoken Word Audio.
Position Responsibilities:
- Drive the strategy, creation, launch and operation of innovative, customer facing, spoken word audio businesses and services.
- Work effectively with other groups within Amazon in order to deliver spoken word audio products and services that span multiple organizations, areas of business, and geographies.
- Drive primary research in order to understand industry trends in the spoken work audio space.
- Own primary analysis of research findings in order to address customer needs, business goals, and the translation of feature concepts into prioritized product requirements on/off of Amazon.com.
- Defining secure, scalable, and low-latency spoken word audio products and services.
- Deliver spoken word audio businesses and services in all geographies that warrant investment.
- Define and meet/exceed SLAs (Service Level Agreements).

Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, schedule tradeoffs and opportunistic new ideas with technical employees. - Capable of writing and presenting an NPI proposal.
Project Management — Manages the planning process, executes and drives results on large-scale projects or multiple smaller projects. Delegates assignments amongst team. Leads resource allocation for project/team. Ability to lead multiple simultaneous product development efforts across disparate organizations.
Candidate Educational & Experience Requirements:
- BA/ BS required
- MBA preferred
- Startup experience highly desirable
- 5 or more years of product management, financial analysis, and marketing experience
- E-commerce experience is a preferred
