Position: Mobile Account Executive

Company: Sony BMG Music Entertainment

Location: New York, NY

Job duties

  • Responsible for all aspects of managing SONY BMG’s mobile content business with select mobile or wireless carrier accounts. Responsible for meeting content sales and revenue goals across multiple product lines, including ringtones, ringbacks, full-length music, video, and more.
  • Propose and execute mobile sales campaigns with timely featured positioning for SONY BMG’s artists, new & catalog releases, holiday & themed content, and other strategic initiatives. Work closely with SONY BMG labels to develop priorities, create campaign concepts, and execute mobile sales plans. Regularly communicate the status of these plans and other activity at the accounts.
  • Develop strong relationships across multiple areas within the accounts, including content/editorial, product marketing, sponsorship, operations, reporting, executive levels, and related 3rd party service providers.
  • Be the account expert: upcoming services, marketing plans, internal structure, organizational incentives, operational procedures, merchandising patterns, and overall trends and opportunities in the account.
  • Seek out and develop new business opportunities with your accounts. Work closely with internal Business Development and Business Affairs teams to bring those concepts to market.
  • Lead frequent pitch calls and business presentations with the accounts.
  • Share insight, analysis, and recommendations with accounts and SONY BMG labels to improve our mutual businesses.
  • Work closely with internal teams to solve operational, reporting, and technical issues.


Job requirements

  • 4-6 years experience at a mobile content/services company, digital music provider, and/or record label preferred.
  • Prior experience in account/client management, digital music sales, distribution, or marketing.
  • Working knowledge of the digital music industry, and a passionate commitment to music and artists.
  • Must be comfortable managing multiple business relationships, across a variety of internal or external teams, each with potentially different objectives or priorities.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and balance priorities. 
  • Strong analytic skills preferred.
  • Some domestic travel required.
  • Highly proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
