If life imitates art, then maybe books imitate their own theories. Chris Anderson's The Long Tail: Why the Future of Business is Selling Less of More was quite the heavily-seller when released in 2006, but thorough debating, debunking, revisioning and disillusionment have made this an outdated read. And, one dusty book long on the tail.
The book currently ranks #59,684 on Amazon, as of Wednesday. Which means it's still selling in smaller amounts, and living on the tail it describes.

But how many books are you selling at #59,684? Amazon sells several million books, and according to an estimate from Dog Ear Publishing, selling one book a week puts you at a ranking of roughly 500,000. Step it up the tail, and a near-60,000 ranking might be around 25 copies a week according to the estimate, with substantially discounted pricing applied.
Add generous speaking engagements over the years and a sprinkling of brainy celebrity, and this is one Long Tail success story.

Can one album a month sale be considered as long tail?

The ebook is $9.99 at Kindle.
Sales would go up if that price went way down.
