If I pay X amount of £'s for the track, am I going to buy it again? No. That's all the money she will get from me in an entire lifetime.

Now, if I continue to stream the same song over a lifetime, all the time still paying a subcription to spotify she will continue to get get her "meagre" checks for the rest of both of our lives. The same money, if not more, just spread over a longer period.
