Ideas like the one Casey has put forward here is a clear and concise window into the thinking that is destroying not only the business but the structure that creates all this music which people seemingly can't live without. The men and women who create all of this music are treated with a level of disdain that should shock us all. All the while the purveyors of the devices that play this content are making billions. What seems so perverse to me is that the writers are so often derided and mocked by the public for noting the imbalance here. I hope someone like a 2012 version of Jimmy Hoffa appears with the passion to unite and bring change to this troubling display of selfshishness and thievery. It's just part of the spirit of the times probably and change will come because the product these writers produce is too valuable not to be protected like any other valuable product.
