SoundCloud has just unwrapped its latest upgrade, a svelte-looking 'Next SoundCloud' that features lots of usability and cosmetic improvements. The company also announced a monthly userbase of 180 million at Le Web in Paris, with greater recommendation and sharing designed to woo more masses. The latest version has been mainlined at soundcloud.com.
Amazon has called on the Harry Fox Agency (HFA) for licensing services related to enhancements to its digital music locker, Cloud Player. As part of the package, HFA will provide data management services, process royalty distributions, and manage payments to publishers.
Apple's plans to further roll out the iTunes Store across the globe now include Russia, as well as Turkey and Ukraine. Actually, the broader rollout includes a total of 56 countries, which brings the grand total to nearly 120.
Norwegian streaming service WiMP has now opened in Poland with a gratis beta. The unveiling happened at the European Music Fair in Warsaw, where an inclusion deal with Polish satellite TV provider, n, was also announced.
