Dave Brubeck has now received a posthumous Grammy nomination for Ansel Adams: America, a piece inspired by Adams' photography and co-written with his son. Brubeck never won a Grammy although he was nominated four times in the past.

Also, Justin Bieber manager Scooter Braun has been loudly critical of the Recording Academy after Bieber failed to bring in a single Grammy nomination in any category (that is, zero).  "The kid deserved it. Grammy board u blew it on this one," Braun tweeted, apparently confusing the Grammys with the AMAs.

Warner Music Group announced that Warner/Chappell Chairman and CEO Cameron Strang is taking the reins of Warner Bros. Records, following the resignation of CEO Todd Moscowitz. Strang will now maintain WMG's west coast operations.

YouTube just updated its interface, featuring a less cluttered, simpler look. In addition, subscribed channels are now more easily accessible.

MXMevents and Mobile Monday NY announced their first mobile music event, AppLause, where attendees can learn about top mobile apps used for live events. It will be held at the Limelight Marketplace on Wednesday, December 12th from 6:30 to 9:00 PM.

BeatStars is extending its beat marketplace through a deal with INgrooves Fontana.   INgrooves CEO Robb McDaniels will serve on the BeatStars board, and separately, BeatStars is pushing a mobile platform that enables deejays and producers to sell their own beats through customized apps.
