Looking to buy vinyl by the pound? You can at Elpee’s Beat Shop.
Seattle creative agency Creature transformed their storefront into a vinyl pop-up store modeled after a butcher shop. They claim to have over 1,000 albums in stock.
Much like meat, the price of the LPs varies by quality. “Choice Cuts” are $1.46 per pound, “Prime Beats” are $1.03, and “Stew” is $0.43 per pound. Vinyl is weighed out on a vintage butcher’s scale and wrapped in butcher paper.
Creature was inspired by the Capitol Hill neighborhood and local storefronts. Their associate creative director told the Seattle Times: “I realized that it wasn’t a good idea in real life but I still wanted to do it“.
