28.5 Million People Watched the Grammys…

465292885

Nielsen has preliminary ratings for this year’s 56th annual Grammy Awards.

28.5 million viewers watched the Grammys. This is the second-largest number in 21 years.

There were 100,000 more viewers this year than last year.  Since 2009, there has been a consistent viewing audience of 25 million people or higher.

In 2012, the Grammys drew 39.9 million viewers, though that was the day after the death of Whitney Houston.

impressive – people still love music, now if we could just keep silicon valley from stealing all the profits from music distribution via ad funded piracy we might actually have a business too.

You just cannot help but hate a mythical bad guy, no?

Sheesh. I’m a white guy and you suck. And, you are racist.

Nina, we already established in another thread that you think artists should work for free because you work for free.

And I suppose that makes sense, in a twisted sort of way.

But do you really have to hate everybody? You’re slowly turning DMN into quite an unpleasant site. Hate speech and racism doesn’t mix well with music.

I think it’s hilarious how all of a sudden labels aren’t bad guys anymore because tech guys are the bad guys. You people realize more than one thing can be shitty at a time, right?

If one knew nothing about the music industry and read the comments on this site, they’d think prior to 1999 everyone who learned 3 chords on a guitar got a record deal with 90% royalty rate, sold 12M albums and became an instant millionaire.

Nina, we get it — you hate music, you hate musicians, you hate labels, you hate old people, you hate white people.

        Where does it end?

The show was boring. But I loved Taylor Swift losing for Best Country Album. Becasue she doesn’t play country music!!
