While everyone at SXSW was busy drinking at meetings and shows, Bacardi was recording bats (oh the irony). Yep, Bacardi tracked the movements of 100,000 famous Austin bats at Congress Bridge. This was used to make music.
The movement of the bats was imposed onto a grid, which influenced software used to trigger sounds, pitch, and tempo. Watch a video of that process:
