The U.S. Copyright Office is adjusting some of their fees in order to “align”them with the cost of providing services. Registration, recordation, and related services will be affected. New fees will go into effect on May 1st, 2014.
Many registration fees will increase to $55 from $35. The registration fee for “single authors who file an online claim for a single work that is not a work made for hire” will be $35.
Filing copyright claims online will now be $85, up from $65.
Copyright renewal fees will decrease to $100 from $115.
