Kobalt Music Group handles global music publishing, label services, and rights services. They administer over 300,000 copyrights.
Now Kobalt is taking extra steps to increase revenue collection for YouTube by launching ProKlaim, a proprietary YouTube detection service. They have done this because of “the music industry’s growing challenge of detecting, collecting and reporting income from the mass of videos uploaded to YouTube daily“.
With ProKlaim, Kobalt delivers their eligible catalogue to YouTube on a daily basis, sending information on new, claimed, and blocked content. They say their high quality metadata for each song “enables much faster, more efficient content matching and reporting“.
Kobalt says ProKlaim has significantly increased client revenue. They’ve matched over 50 million videos and over one billion streams per month.
