Update, Tuesday, 3:36 pm: Twitter reportedly decided against the purchase, more here.

SoundCloud might become part of Twitter, according to new information reported by Recode.

“People familiar with both companies” say Twitter is thinking about buying the audio hosting platform.

At the end of 2013, SoundCloud said they had 250 million users. In January 2014, SoundCloud was valued at $700 million.

Both Twitter and SoundCloud declined comment.

SoundCloud has been cleaning up their platform and adding features to their stats view. They recently announced that they are deleting “old SoundCloud”, which has existed in tandem with their current platform.

Totally agreed, another team jumping in to shallow waters of streaming.

We need it slow and easy, down to basics with music as a merchandise AGAIN. Purchased from all terrestrial Radio, Pandora, XM tuned-up Sptiifys or Deezers and millions of web sites.
YouTube can become master supplier. Sorry no future for VEVO!

There is no need for stuntmen jumping between the bullet trains speeding into cement wall!

It sounds like their best chance to cash out. Go for it.
