Corporate Shuffles: BBC Radio 1, WiMP, Telnor Pakistan, Altered State…

The latest news from companies that are hiring, firing, expanding, and dying.

Australian promotion company Altered State is shutting down. A Federal Court declared the company insolvent. Soundwave music festival said Altered State owed them $340,690.46 in bar tab profits. Altered State said Soundwave actually owed them money, but were unable to produce any documents to prove it.

WiMP has partnered with Telnor Pakistan. Telnor will become a WiMP reseller, and will bundle the service into some subscription plans. The two companies have already partnered in Norway and Denmark. WiMP has also hired a new Asian team, based in New Delhi. The team is lead by former Dhingana CEO Rohit Bhatia.

BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra are cutting many of their DJs and radio presenters due to BBC budget cuts. Those being let go are: Edith BowmanNihalMike DaviesRob Da BankJen LongAlly McCraeCJ BeatzCrissy Criss, and Robbo Ranx. A large number of the remaining DJs are getting additional shows and time extensions. 1Xtra has brought on one new presenter, A.Dot.
