Twitter Now Displays GIFs….

Screen shot 2014-06-19 at 2.45.54 PM

Twitter now displays GIFs on their web and on the official iOS, and Android apps.

The GIFs Twitter displays are actually videos that have been created from the image. Users have to hit the play button when the GIF shows up in the timeline, and then the video plays on loop.

Twitter has passed Facebook on image support, as Facebook recently added GIF support to messenger, but has not added it to the general site.
