Delivery Agent has reached an agreement to acquire merchandise distribution company Musictoday from Live Nation. No financial details of the agreement have been given.
Musictoday has been in the e-commerce business for 15 years. They operate sales, ticketing, and fan club platforms. They’ve worked with over 500 clients, including Pitbull, Lady Gaga, U2, and Tim McGraw.
Delivery Agent specializes in selling stuff to TV viewers. Their technology targets viewers through web, mobile, and TV apps. Delivery Agent works with NBC, FOX, HBO, Pepsi, Comcast, AT&T, Verizon, Samsung, and other companies.
Delivery Agent plans on using Musictoday’s monetization services to update their clients’ online and mobile storefronts. The companies will also work on selling merch directly from tweets, music videos, and concert livestreams.
Coran Capshaw, Musictoday’s founder / manager of Dave Matthews Band and Tim McGraw, says this acquisition “will help drive a new chapter of digital commerce for our industry”.
