In Other News: Rethinking 360, Less Contractual iPhones, More Music at MTV?...

  2. And how about a contract-free iPhone?  Apple will soon sell iPhones without mandatory, two-year AT&T contracts, though the devices still remain locked to the carrier.  The 8GB and 16GB contract-free iPhones will retail for $599 and $699, and can be tied into month-to-month commitments, without cancellation fees.
  3. More Music at MTV?  The company has now assembled a team dedicated to integrating music into long-form programs across various network channels.  The Creative Music Integration (CMI) unit will be headed by Joe Cuello, vice president of creative music integration for MTV Networks Music Group.
  4. Latest Beatles Chatter: George Harrison son Dhani could be considering a Beatles-only download store, according to an interpretation of comments to the Guardian.  The move would allow the group to better control pricing, formats, and other variables. 
  5. Photographer Annie Liebovitz has now entered into a multi-project collaboration with Orchard Represents, a boutique division of Getty Images. 
  6. Say Cheese: Kanye West has been charged with a number of misdemeanors related to a paparazzi altercation at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).  In true rockstar form, West smashed a camera and confiscated some equipment. 
  7. Metropolitan Talent is now cutting staff, according to a Billboard report.  The management, concert promotion and recording group confirmed the changes on Thursday.
