Forget about privacy concerns, this is reality-focused MTV. On Tuesday, MTV Networks disclosed a pact with Foursquare, a deal that will starting pegging the locations of a number of reality celebs. That includes "Jersey Shore" luminary DJ Pauly D, who will be using Foursquare to offer "tips on the best fist-pumping spots nationwide."
Other celebrities integrating Foursquare will come from "The Hills," "The City," "Real World: New Orleans," "The T.O. Show," "Fantasia for Real" and "What Chilli Wants," according to the company.
The deal will employ the new 'celebrity mode,' which allows anyone to follow a celebrity without personally knowing the individual. Foursquare will be integrated into the MTV and VH1 programs themselves, and also promoted through various ads. On top of that, location-based sponsorship deals are also in the wings, though nothing formal has been announced.
