The wildly-successful Guitar Hero franchise is now spreading its musical tentacles. According to information confirmed by Activision on Thursday, an upcoming edition of the game will feature vocals and drums, as well as a newly redesigned guitar. That confirms earlier information from Activision chief executive Bobby Kotick, who described the expanded selection last month.
The latest installation, dubbed Guitar Hero: World Tour, also allows more players, delivers more songs, and boosts Wii features. Additionally, World Tour features a full-service studio that allows players to record, edit and share their own rock 'n roll concoctions.
In-game song downloads are part of the action, though the game is packaged with a broad selection of tracks from giants like Van Halen, Linkin Park, The Eagles, and Sublime. World Tour also features wireless instruments, and even offers downloads from local acts, according to the company.
