What started with a no-fee Wednesday in the United States is now becoming a global price-chopping crusade. Earlier this week, the concert giant introduced lower entry fees in Europe, and the action is now spreading into Canada.
Up north, concertgoers can now order no-fee tickets through Rogers Wireless, according to information shared with Digital Music News by both companies. That includes shows at the Molson Amphitheatre in Toronto, the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, and hundreds of other Live Nation concerts across Canada.
Actually, the Rogers tie-up is part of a broader reduction in Canada. Earlier this week, Live Nation started a Canadian no-fee Wednesday promotion, specifically at Molson, a move that mimics an earlier move in the States. Rogers is broadening the cause, and also furthering a mobile ticketing initiative that ditches the paper and offers special access to buyers.
