Well-Packaged Exec Could Become Next EMI Label Chief

Who will Guy Hands pluck to head EMI Music?  According to a recent Financial Times report, the candidate under consideration is Elio Leoni Sceti, a former P&G executive who currently heads the European division of British packaged goods company Reckitt Benckiser.

The executive would oversee the recorded unit only, according to the Times.  That leaves a structure that carries separate recording and publishing chiefs, both reporting into Hands.  Others are also reportedly in the running, leaving the situation somewhat fluid.

Meanwhile, the entire situation at EMI Music also remains highly fluid, especially alongside a massive workforce reduction.  The company is shedding at least 1,500, and reshaping the global organization in a process that intensified last week.
