Just how many apps are you now competing with? According to information shared by Apple, the App Store total now surpasses 50,000. "We have at least 50,000 as of right now," an Apple executive told Digital Music News on Wednesday, in response to a story about the increasingly-crowded iPhone (and iPod touch) app deck.
The number is likely to ramp upward, especially as more consumers enter the iPhone and iPod touch fold. That includes the iPhone 3GS, a device that quickly grabbed one million takers, including a substantial number of newbies.
