What's the best way to bundle? That remains an ongoing experiment for bands, marketing teams and labels. But one thing's for sure: one-off purchases are so unfulfilling.
In that light, band favorite Bandcamp has just upped its physical and digital packaging capabilities, a move that makes it easier for fans to aggregate. So what does this update look like? Bandcamp already supported physical and digital bundles, but buyers were forced to clarify certain choices after the sale was completed. So, refinements like "red vinyl instead of blue" and "medium t-shirt instead of large" were required over email, PayPal notes, or another channel.
The simplification upgrade allows buyers to make easy drop-down selections for different parts of the bundle. In turn, those refined orders are quickly dropped into the band's in-box and sales history. On top of that, bands can also create multiple packaging options per release, and list them all on a single album page.
