What happened to the leaky
internet? The answer is Michael Jackson. Amidst a swell of
Jackson-related torrents, files, downloads, and traffic surges, more
conventional album leaks actually subsided for a while.
But not for long. According to data partner BigChampagne, Daughtry is the latest, big-artist leak. The upcoming album, Leave This Town, first leaked onto the web on Tuesday, ahead of a July 14th street date.
The source? VH1.com and Rhapsody began streaming Daughtry’s new album on Tuesday, the beginning of the drama. A fan quickly recorded the stream and started sharing it on private BitTorrent tracker sites. The quality is so low however - 64Kbps - that interest remains limited.
