The Knitting Factory will soon disappear from Hollywood - or at least its current location on Hollywood Blvd.  The news was confirmed over the weekend by CEO Morgan Margolis to the Los Angeles Times, who pointed to problems with the lease and noise complaints.  Margolis is now "looking all over" Los Angeles, and expects a relatively smooth transition to a new locale. 

Whether Margolis is being hopelessly optimistic remains unclear, though commercial rents are currently quite low.  That offers hope for a model that includes low-cost, all-age shows, though the Factory could find it difficult to match its prime Hollywood spot.
