On the earnings front, Live Nation Entertainment (LYV) is preparing its second-quarter earnings announcement after the bell on August 5th.  More details here.

Warner Music Group (WMG) is also planning its quarterly earnings announcement on the same day, also after the bell.  Analysts expect a loss.

AOL is hunting for a fresh executive to jumpstart its music initiatives, according to a memo leaked to Bloomberg.

Thumbplay Music now offers full content caching for Android devices, a move that follows a similar announcement for Blackberry handhelds.

Early-bird registration just started at Midem.  Jump onto midem.net before September 30th to grab the discount.

CP Records has just finalized a distribution deal with EMI Music though its Label Services Division.

Wall Street lifted upward on Monday, though action within the music portfolio was largely uneventful.  Among the bigger movers, Warner Music Group (WMG) gained 4.04 percent to $4.89, hardly a nosebleed finish but a recovery nonetheless.

Martin Scorsese and Mick Jagger are collaborating again, this time to create a "rock n' roll drama" for HBO.
