The heavily-hyped iPhone 3G is now suffering from a number of different bugs, including a 3G-specific connectivity problem. The problem includes slow connections and unwanted toggling between 3G and standard cellular networks, according to a smattering of consumer complaints.
Earlier this week, Apple issued a bug fix upgrade, though it remains unclear if the 3G-specific concerns were properly addressed. In a statement, an Apple representative noted that the update was designed to improve 3G network connectivity, though many users questioned the effectiveness of the release.
In fact, users have complained that the upgrade has simply caused additional issues, an unenviable situation for Apple. Meanwhile, expectations are focused on another possible update in September, one that could offer a better connectivity fix.
