Apple is great at courting long lines and generating pent-up demand. But what happens when the hysteria is absent? In the case of Poland, a recent recipient of the iPhone 3G, paid actors were called in to fabricate a line outside of an Orange store. "We have these fake queues in front of twenty stores around the country to drum up interest in the iPhone," an Orange spokesman recently told Reuters. According to the report, the carrier is paying "dozens of actors" to fabricate demand for the expensive device and associated mobile plan costs.
