Soundcloud has finalized an integrated audio deal with Memolane, a sort of scrapbook timeline of social media and internet activity. Users can now sonify their timelines with the SoundCloud Waveform Player.
Song identification and discovery app Soundhound is now getting integrated with Spotify in Europe. Soundhound users who are also Spotify Premium subscribers can easily play their matched tracks.
Back in the US, Wall Street ended slightly downward on Thursday, and most music stocks followed suit. Among the gainers was Pandora (P), which lifted more than 3 percent after a mixed quarterly earnings report. The complete rundown of music stocks is here.
Apple (AAPL) also edged oh-so-slightly downward amidst some confusion over what happens with Steve Jobs. A prevailing sentiment is that Jobs will remain a 'chief visionary,' though Apple is giving scant details.
This again? Looks like there's another movement to shoot 'Napster: The Movie,' once again from Alex Winter (Bill from Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure). VH1 is financing the initiative, according to Deadline.
Esther Gordy Edwards, the "Mother or Motown," passed away this week at 91. Edwards was the older sister of Barry.
Shazam and Vevo are now joining forces to create the first 'Shazamable' video. Those that tag 'How to Love' by Lil Wayne will be eligible for a trip to see the rapper perform live.
