Bands are weighing the benefits of overhauling their MySpace pages. But MySpace wants to sweeten to offer a bit. The company has just unveiled Sync for Facebook, which is largely self-explanatory. At a top level, MySpace users can quickly export updates to Facebook followers. At a musician level, that includes updates on everything from new songs and videos, to fresh photos and tour updates.
Everyone wants a MySpace v. Facebook battle, but holding hands is better for everyone. "This new sync functionality is part of an ongoing effort to make it simple for people to share their updates beyond MySpace and allow fans and friends to interact with that content across the web," a MySpace executive told Digital Music News. The sync functionality also includes Twitter.
More details at myspace.com/guide/sync, and the play-by-play is as follows:
(1) Click on the settings box in the update module on your homepage (to the left of the Share button).
(2) Check the box next to Facebook or Twitter (or both).
(3) Follow the steps prompted to sync your accounts.
(3) Your updates will now automatically sync.
