The Artist Management Conference just announced a mid-October kick-off in New York.  Managers, artists seeking management, and other music industry players are invited.

Hello Music is now seeking unsigned artists to play its CMJ showcase in October (also in New York).  And, on that note, CMJ itself just published its preliminary lineup of bands.

Music Industry Introduction, Chapter 1.  A "highly-vocal" group of Glee cast members is now crying foul on Sony Music.  The group alleges the label screwed them out of royalties on soundtrack releases.

Where are they now?  Microsoft passed, but Intertrust has just scooped various Seeqpod patents and assets in a Chapter 7 bankruptcy proceeding.

The latest Arcade Fire experiment is an interactive film that combines HTML5, Chrome extensions, and other programming tricks.  The Wilderness Downtown is based on the song, "We Used to Wait".

The iTunes Store could soon be doubling the length of preview clips, according to C|Net.

Napster has just released a Samsung App, a move into the world of connected TVs.  So, "lean back" and enjoy the tunes.

Wall Street ended a brutal August above 10,000, though the music portfolio was mixed-n-soggy.  Among the bigger drops, Warner Music Group (WMG) dipped 4.78 percent to $4.18. Sirius XM Radio (SIRI) landed at 95-cents.  A complete wrap here.
