IODA will soon announce a number of American and European label partnerships, according to details tipped to Digital Music News on Tuesday. The list will include V2 Benelux, Union Square Music, Jade Tree, the Agriculture Records, Asian Man Records, Barge Recordings, Catsup Plate, Captured Tracks, and NooN Music, and a formal announcement is expected Wednesday morning. Additionally, IODA has tied a deal with reunited band That Petrol Emotion, a group planning to digitally re-release albums through the partnership.
The incoming label group represents a broad catalog, and each partner has its own unique history. Of the slate, NooN Music oversees the collection of Roy Orbison masters, and the first release will be a recording of the last concert performed by the singer. "It is important to Roy Jr. to make his father's recordings available digitally, so we can reach Roy Orbison fans around the world," commented Tanja Crouch, vice president at NooN.
