EMI Music keeps realigning its executive cast, part of a seemingly endless restructuring effort. The latest involves Sid McCain, recently bumped to Vice President of Label Services for North America. McCain will work with various labels within Caroline, as well as other EMI-distributed independents. The role also involves the recruitment of new label partners, and is part of a broader shift to provide independent partners with distribution, marketing, promotional and digital resources. McCain will report to Dominic Pandiscia, General Manager of Label Services.
EMI Music has mostly been reaching from the outside, at least for its high-profile executive placements. That strategy injects some fresh thinking into the organization, though McCain brings music industry expertise related to independents. Previously, McCain was a marketing consultant at EMI Music Canada, where she managed campaigns for distributed labels Curb, Labworks, Side One Dummy, Stereo Dynamite and Century Media. Prior to that, McCain carried a number of top slots at V2, and worked with artists like The White Stripes, Raconteurs, Moby, Stereophonics, Ray Davies and Paul Weller.
