San Francisco-based digital label and distributor INgrooves has now brokered a content deal with 7digital, according to details disclosed Wednesday. The London-based 7digital.com is accessible across Europe, specifically the UK, Ireland, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Austria and Portugal. The recent deal infuses INgrooves independent artist partners into those stores. "INgrooves works with some big name artists and labels, and we are pleased to add these to our four million-strong catalog of tracks," commented Ben Drury, chief executive of 7digital.
INgrooves is now backed by Universal Music Group, part of a continued diversification by the major. The investment, officially disclosed in March, focuses on digital distribution and royalty management aspects. That includes access to an INgrooves distribution platform that covers delivery to online and mobile outlets, and manages a range of other backend aspects. The INgrooves roster includes Dolly Parton, Thievery Corporation, Paul Oakenfold, John Michael Montgomery, Lady Sovereign, Too $hort, The Cool Kids, Tila Tequila and John Digweed.
