SanFran MusicTech is hardly a huge conference - leave that to mega-shows like South by Southwest (SXSW), Midem, and CES. But coordinator Brian Zisk managed to attract a healthy crowd on Monday, perhaps another sign of returning optimism.
The event was hosted in the small Japantown enclave of San Francisco, and the Hotel Kabuki seemed stretched at points. A Google keynote easily packed a large ballroom, and a significant percentage of attendees found themselves standing on the periphery. Other sessions also attracted healthy crowds, and networking breakouts were well populated. Actually, a hint of the over-optimism of yore showed signs of returning - a good or bad thing, depending on the perspective.
